Words & Paintery

Good morning. I hope your weekend is going to be warmer and drier than ours.  18 and storms.  I think we will be staying inside!  I worked last night on a challenge from a blog that I have not done before called Words & Paintery.  I am a bit worried about putting my humble layout up when they have some of the most beautiful mix media layouts I have ever seen, but their challenge was a fantastic inspiration with these colours, words and even a sketch:

This is my layout:

Sketchabilities #137

Good evening!  I hope you are all safe from the crazy weather that seems to be reeking havoc all around the place in the last couple of days.  It has been perfect scrapping weather, when its horrible and cold and windy outside.  I had a play with the new Sketchabilities challenge which looks like this:

This is what I came up with:

My partner dug up this photo of me with our baby princess Nellie, who is now an old lady at 13 years old.  And I am 21 and have hair all the way past my waist.  I love this photo and this layout came together really nicely.  Thank you for coming and having a look :)

D-lish Scraps April Challenge

Good afternoon!  I hope you are having a very scrappy weekend.  Last night I definitely had a good flow going on and I thought would try out the D-lish Scraps challenge for this month which has this gorgeous mood board:

I used the sketch (but turned sideways), the colours, some gold and the feathers as my inspiration and this is what I came up with:

I used quite a few products from the D-lish store including the arrow paperclip, the washi tapes, the flower, the resin flower and the gold chevron bag.  Thank you for taking the time to stop by!

Stuck?! 15 April Challenge

Hi there.  I hope you have been having an enjoyable weekend.  I have, even with the yucky weather.  I took my boys to see the SpongeBob movie yesterday and today we are just chilling out and staying warm.   Last night I got a chance to scrap and worked on the 15 April challenge from Stuck?! which looks like this:

I was lucky enough to have a couple of photos I had taken at the boy's sports carnival on 10th of April and thought that it would be good with this sketch.  Here is my layout:

I love having a sketch to work from and this layout flowed so well.  Thanks for checking it out :)

123 Challenge Blog

Good afternoon.  The weather here in Canberra has gone all cold and grey and the rain has been falling.  I has taken me a few days to get a decent chance to take a photo of my layout which I complete for the 123 Challenge blog April challenge.  This is what the challenge was:

I am not really a pink person at all but I did find a piece of pink cardstock that had been a freebie when I ordered something else that I used as a base.  I used the words Laugh Out Loud  as my title and I used a piece of grid pattered paper in my layout:

Thanks for taking the time to take a look :)

Off the Rails Scrapbooking

Hi :)  I have been looking for some extra inspiration this month and I found a challenge site I hadn't seen before.  Off the Rails Scrapbooking had lots of inspiration for me - the choice of two different colour palettes.  This is the one I picked:

I love this colour combo, with a bit of sparkle thrown in.  I found a photo that suit this palette so well and I just built it up from there:

Thanks for stopping by to take a look :)

Scrap the Boys April Challenge

Hi again.  I seem to have been scrapping like mad this month, but I have made quite a few layouts that I am in love with. I have to say I am quite pleased with this one.  It really does help when you have a great mood board to work with. The mood board over at Scrap the Boys this month looks like this:

So what did I pick from the mood board - shades of blue, woodgrain, a bit of sparkle and flags blowing in the wind.  This is what that lead to:

Thank you so much for checking out my layout :)

Stuck?! 1 April

Good afternoon (or evening or morning).  Today is the last day of term for my boys and I am looking forward to have some fun with them over the next couple of weeks - well at least the four days I a week I am not working.

This morning I took some time to have a play with the Stuck?! 1 April Challenge which has this awesome sketch:

I flipped it anticlockwise to better suit my photo and this is what I came up with:

Thank you for coming by to have a look :)

White with 1 April Challenge

Hi!! I have had a child-free day.  I am not sure when the last time I had one of those was..... its been such a long time.  I took a day off work to see my boys compete in their Athletics Carnival and visit my BFF for her birthday. I got some time to scrap this morning and I though I would have a go at the White with 1 Challenge which is :

ww1 sand

Hi all!  I hope you are having a good day!  This month Kraft + put up a super cool retro recipe challenge.  This is the recipe and colour scheme:

This is my layout:

I have put some yellow woodgrain washi tape at the top and bottom of the layout, there are poker dots on one of my tags and a paperbag, I used cotton on my three shipping tags, a silver doily and I stamped the kraft background with red script at the top and bottom.

Thank you for coming and checking it out :)

Sketchabilities 136

Hi there, I had a very inspired night last night and I got to spend some time working Sketchabilities #136.  I love working from a sketch, it takes the hassle out of making sure you have the right balance etc because its all done for you.  And you get to concentrate on embellishing :)

Here is the sketch:

This is my layout:

I love this photo and how this layout turned out.  Thanks for taking a look!!

Scrap the Girls

Good morning!  I hope the Easter Bunny was good to you!  He was good to me - all the kids went to bed nice and early and I got some scrapping time :).  I started with the Scrap the Girls challenge for April which consists of this mood board:

Such pretty colours and very feminine.  This is the layout I came up with:

Show Us Your Stuff April Challenge

Hiya!  I hope you are all enjoying Easter and maybe getting some rest on your long weekend.  I have three kids who are super excited about the arrival of the Easter Bunny tonight.  I really hope we don't end up with too much chocolate!!

Last night I got to start looking at April challenges and I thought I would start with Show Us Your Stuff.  Their challenge is all about pastels and their mood board looks like this:

I am usually into pretty bright colours so this one was definitely a challenge for me but I had a lot of fun with it and found lots of stuff in my stash that I could use - both pastels and a few flowers:

I used a whole bunch of products from the D-lish Scraps store and a brand new Heavenly Heart from Charm's Creations that I only received on Thursday.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by :)
