July 123 Challenge

Only one more day to the end of the month, so I had to get cracking on the 123 challenge for July! The criteria are:
JULY CHALLENGE

This is my layout - I am sorry about the bad photo - it has been overcast all day and almost impossible to get a decent photo!

I have used these lovely bright paper papers by Pebbles, there is an arrow sticker on the left and another one on the tab at the top of the photo and the word awesome is included in my journalling at the bottom of the photo.  Thanks for taking the time to check it out!

Life. Paper. Scrapbook. July Challenge

I love the sketch challenge over at Life. Paper. Scrapbook. this month. The examples on the website are just fabulous and very inspirational. The sketch looks like this:

I had to search through my photo pile to find some pics that would nicely fit into the funky frames I bought from Pink Paisley and came up with these photos of my dog, Nellie.  I love the paper kit I used for this - Hey Kid - such bright colours. Not sure that I nailed it but glad I took the time to have a go.  Hope you like it....

Stuck?! 15 July Sketch Challenge

Hi!

I was up much too late again last night scrapping.  I started on the 15 July challenge from Stuck?!

I almost gave up. I had the perfect photo, rather than three photos, I had this panoramic shot I had taken years ago with my eldest and our staffies and I just turned the sketch sideways.  The problem was that I was struggling with was the colours in my photo and just wasn't having much luck getting it to work.  I started out working with black and white papers hoping that the neutral colours would allow the photo colours to shine. It was not to be.  I needed some colour! So this is what I came up with:

I am quite happy with how it came out and hope you like it too!  Thank you for stopping by!

Stuck?! 1 July Challenge

The Stuck?! 1 July challenge was the following sketch:

I love the triangles but I always struggle to find two photos on one subject that can both be cropped down.  I found these photos from Easter of my 6 and 4 year old boys feeding Berani the tiger at the National Zoo and Aquarium and thought they would be perfect.  I wasn't sure about the colour scheme and I use black and white cardstock so often that I thought I needed to try something else.  I think this came out quite well and I hope you like my interpretation of the sketch.

Scrapbooking Top 50 July Challenge

My interpretation:

Jot Magazine July Mood Board

I love Jot Magazine, it is so full of beautiful layouts and is a great inspiration to me, when my mojo is a bit lacking.  I saw their mood board for July and thought that I would have a go at a layout with this awesome colour/texture scheme.

ANNASMUSTARDANDTEAL

This is what I came up with:

Scrap the Boys July Challenge

The criteria for the challenge at Scrap the Boys this month is big boys toys!  I had a photo in mind for it, and went in search of it on my external hard drive, but when I found the picture of my eldest son as a 2 year old sitting in a bobcat in our garden, it was rather blurry. In the same folder I found this photo of Jax fixing his mower and every time I see it I can't help but smile to myself.  I hope you enjoy it and it makes you smile too!

Black with Two July Challenge

This month Black with Two put up the following sketch and inspiration board:

CURRENT MOODBOARDJULY SKETCH

Very cool colour scheme but the word for this month was tropicana and I found it very difficult to find any photos that would suitably fit into that scheme.  I had to think outside the box and have included the word in my journalling in the following layout:

My Grandad Sid lived in Bali for quite a long time when I was a child and he always looked like was ready to go to the beach.  Love this photo of three of my four grandparents.  Thank you so much for checking it out!

Scrap the Girls July Challenge

Good afternoon, where did the morning go?? I did some scrapping last night but was waiting for the sun to come out so I could get some decent photos.  I started with the Scrap the Girls challenge which this month is to use texture paste and paint in your layout.  I have been wanting to scrap this beautiful photo of my daughter in the first dress I have ever made her.  I love the colours and have used a splat mask from Tim Holtz with texture paste and then used watered down acrylic paint to do further splats over the top.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!

Show Us Your Stuff July Challenge

Good morning.  It's has been absolutely freezing in Canberra this last week and we have been spending lots of time inside.  I thought I would give the challenge from Show Us Your Stuff a try as it really suits the current climate!

You may include as many (or few) of the pictured colours as you wish.

To clarify the colours - charcoal, mid blue, cream, light grey, teal.
(You may also include black and white.)

And of course, don't forget your handmade item!

I decided to that this photo of my son from his pre-school crazy hair day was perfect for this colour scheme.

I used charcoal cardstock, texture paste, teal dylusions mist, then teal, white and grey patterned papers, shades of blue alphas, a teal flourish with a bling, and my two hand made items are the flair button by Flutterby Designs and a heavenly heart by Charm's Creations. Thanks for taking a look!

D-lish Scraps July Challenge

I have been away for a little while, in hospital having surgery, and then trying to get back into the swing of things but just generally feeling exhausted!  Then yesterday the postman delivered my Just Add Paper kit from D-lish Scraps and my hands were itching to start playing with all the beautiful embellishments!  I really love the challenge they have set for July:

I don't know if its the beautiful colours or the texture but I started with the sketch and then got carried away with all the prettiness and this is what I came up with!

I used lots of the elements of the Just Add Paper kit and also added a D-lish sequin bow, black and white lace washi tape and a Mambi PL Card from my stash.  The photo I used is of my Partner with our oldest boy on his 6th birthday and the colours worked fantastically!  Hope you like it!
