Stuck?! 15 June Sketch Challenge

Hi!  Thank you for taking a look at my new creation.  I did this one based on the following sketch for the 15th  June Stuck?! Challenge:

I love this sketch and I thought of these two photos straight away.  I used a new paper kit I had recently bought but I am not convinced that the colours are quite what I was going for.  I might have to come back to this one at some stage.....

Scrap the Girls June Challenge

This month, Scrap the Girls has a new banner, very pretty and chic.  The June challenge is to use this as inspiration for a layout.

I decided to use the pink and green, although in lighter tones and bling down in the lower right hand corner of the banner.

There are also a few flowers in the mason jar on my layout.

Thanks for taking a look :)

Show Us Your Stuff June Challenge

For their June Challenge, Show Us Your Stuff put up the following recipe challenge:

At least one hand made item.
A sprinkling of stars
A dash of sequins
A title that includes at least 2 different types of alpha stickers
3 buttons/flair
2 photos
1 arrow

I love a sketch challenge but wasn't entirely sure how I was going to apply all these elements so I have been thinking about it for a while and this is what I came up with:

I found this single piece of fantastic red with gold flecks corrugated cardstock when I was at the craft shop a month or so ago and thought it was fabulous!  I used a Charm's Creations chevron I converted into an arrow as my handmade item (and arrow of course).  I have used two different types of alphas in my title, a sprinkling of stars, three flair buttons, two photos and these tiny weeny blue mini sequins that I had in my stash (they weren't easy to stick down at all).

I hope you like it, thanks for checking it out :).

Scrap the Boys June Challenge

I love Scrap the Boys and I see a whole lot of other people do too.  Although I do a lot of boy scrapping as my two eldest children are boys, I love having a challenge that makes me concentrate on them and sometime puts me outside my comfort zone.  For June the challenge is:

‘Use a 5x7in or larger Photo’

Its been a long time since I have scrapped a photo larger than 4x6 inches but the one I used in this layout is 6x8 inches and has been sitting in my pile of photos for quite some time.  I was trying to achieve the layered look, and although I am not completely happy, I think the colours work well with the photo.

Thank you for having a look :)

June 123 Challenge

Well I thought I would have another go at my take on a 'mixed media' type page and have created a layout for the 123 Challenge. The challenge this month is

This photo of my eldest with my dad fitted the together theme well.  I have used the word together in the journalling on the black card at the lower left hand side of the photo.

I used my new Tim Holtz splats mask to put texture paste down on my card stock and you can see it better in the below photo.

I used several different blue inks, mists and paint.

Thanks for looking!

Scrapbooking Top 50 June Challenge

Good afternoon!  I have had a very sleepy day today but I did this layout last night and thought I would share.  The sketch challenge at Scrapbooking Top 50 is:

I have seen sooooo many gorgeous layouts that use layers and texture and are so arty and I so wanted have a go.  This is my first effort and although I am not entirely happy with it, I think it has inspired me to keep trying.

This was a really old photo, about 10 years old but we had extra copies so I used one.  I found that if you use the heat gun near it it start to shrink!  So I did it all around the outside to create another layer.

I have had this little resin frame for a while now and wasn't sure how I was going to use but it worked in well with the colours of this layout so I used it to highlight a rose bloom.

Thanks for checking it out and hopefully I will get the hang of this style and put up some better examples in the future! :o)

Charm's Creations

Just wanted to put this layout up that I completed in May last year.  I altered one of Charm's Creations Lovely Lollipops to make it a flower centre.  I just used my little 1 inch circle punch to make some circles for the petals and folded them to create the texture. Then I stuck it all together with my hot glue gun.

Black with Two June Challenge

Hi!

I got very creative the other night and stayed up much too late.  I had a go at the  Black with Two June challenge - they put up the following sketch and inspiration board:

Talk about a yummy combination!  And an interesting sketch too.  This is what I came up with:

I love this photo of my Dad with my Daughter.  The chocolate face works well with the inspiration board.  Thanks for taking a look!

Kraft It Up June Challenge

Good morning!

I must admit I got really excited when I saw the sketch on the Kraft It Up challenge for June.  It's just so cute. I decided that I was even going to copy the little hot air balloon, as even though they were in fashion there for a while, I have never used one in a layout.  This is what the challenge says:

Is to create a layout using the below sketch
- the colour PINK and
- PAINT/MIST SPLATTERS...

I only had one piece of kraft cardstock and it was corrugated, but I thought that would look pretty cool as I was going for a really textured look with the buttons, felt clouds, twine, chipboard hearts etc.

There is pink in the papers I chose, and the button I used on the balloon and I used splatters of teal mist on the background.

Thank you for taking a look!
