Words and Paintery

What better way to spend a cold winter's day then spend a day scrapping pictures of a warm summer's day!  At Words and Paintery this month their challenge includes shades of blue plus the words 'Life is better in flip flops'.

Whilst I didn't have pictures of flip flops my son is bare foot in this photo and in shorts and t-shirt doing something he used to be totally obsessed with - sweeping!  Here is my layout:

Thanks for stopping by and checking it out!

123 Challenge Blog

Good morning!  I would really like for winter to be over already!  I can't wait for the warmth and time outside!  Canberra is not a good place for a cold blooded creature like me to live - lmao.  Anyway I have had a chance to do some scrapping and I completed the 123 Challenge Blog challenge for July:

123 Challenge

This is my layout:

So its not very exciting! I found some very lime green paper and some very bright orange ribbon and I used the word kind in my title.

Hope you have a wonderful day :)

Off the Rails Scrapbooking Challenge

Hi!! Hope you are all having a fantastic day!!  I did some work on a layout for Off the Rails Scrapbooking challenge.  This month they  have given a choice of two beautiful mood boards and this is the one I picked:

We took this photo of my eldest (who is now 7) with this bump on his head and it was the first and only time he really injured himself in this way.  We had absolutely no idea what we would be in for when his brother came along - who was nearly constantly bruised.  They are so similar, yet so very very different boys.  Here is my layout:

As you can see I went nuts with flicking ink everywhere and lots of sequins.  Thanks for checking it out :)

Scrap Our Stash Challenge

Good evening.  Last night I spent some time working on a challenge I have not tried before - Scrap Our Stash.  Their challenge is to use your stash ie using some of those things that you have been holding on to for a while and this month it is also to use elements that spell out the word 'photos'.  Here is my layout:

P - Predators - my title (and one of Jeremy's favourite words at the moment)
H - Heavenly Heart
O - October Afternoon label sticker
T - Twine
O - Outlining - around the the white paper with ink pen

S - Simple Stories - 24/Seven collection

Here is another photo:

Thanks so much for checking it out :)

D-lish Scraps

Good afternoon!  Its a perfect afternoon from Scrapping here - but these children just keep getting in my way - lol!  Luckily I spent sometime last night indulging myself.  The D-lish Scraps mood board this month looks like this:

I can't believe it but I missed out on a just add paper kit again this month!  I went to shop after my kids went to bed on the 1st and they had all sold out in a matter of hours :(  I order some of the elements of the just add paper kit and used some of my D-lish Scraps stash and created this:

My layouts for D-lish Scraps challenges never seem to come out quite how I envisage them however I will keep trying and hope one day I might produce something spectacular.  Thanks for checking it out!

Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia

Good afternoon, from chilly Canberra. I don't think its quite as cold as they predicted but I can see my breath outside even in the middle of the afternoon.  I stayed up much too late last night scrapping and though I would start with Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia sketch for July which looks like this:

July Challenge

This is my layout:

A picture of my oldest boy receiving a special award at school last year.  I think these colours work quite well with the background of the picture.   I love the little chip board numbers that I inked green up in the top corner.

Thank you for coming past to check it out :)

Good afternoon!  I hope you are all having an awesome afternoon :).  I have completed a layout for the Kraft + July Challenge.  The Challenge is as follows:

This is a very cool challenge!  I love the brightness of the yellows teamed up with the Kraft background.  The only problem was that I had a lot of issues trying to get a decent photo.  This is my layout:

Stuck?! July 1 Challenge

Hi again!! I also got stuck into the Stuck?! July 1 today which looks like this:

I knew what pictures I wanted to use, but I had to turn the sketch so the pictures were at the bottom. And I used only two picture instead of three.  Then I picked out a cool new paper collection called Jack and Jill by Echo Park which had some very cool feminine colours. The beautiful Heavenly Heart down the bottom is by Charm's Creations.  This is my layout:

Thanks so much for checking it out :)

Scrap the Boys July Challenge

Hi all!  I have another lovely quiet day at home with an opportunity to scrap to my hearts content!  I started today with the July challenge from Scrap the Boys.  Their mood board looks like this:

Those are some pretty stunning colours and I decided to team them up with black to make them really pop!  This is my layout:

Thanks so much for dropping by and checking it out :)

Scrap the Girls July Challenge

Good evening.  I have had a wonderful scrappy child free day and I have been making the most the awesome new challenges that have gone up today!  I really love the sketch that Rikki created for the July challenge from Scrap the Girls:

I started working on a layout with a oldish picture of my little girl nearly two years ago.  I have to explain the title:  my Dad always say that all babies are born with a gene that makes them like hot chips.  So I wanted to remember little gem of information :)  Here is my layout:

I am loving this new paper range by Kaisercraft called Chasing Rainbows.  So many bright colours!  Thank you so much for checking it out :)

Show Us Your Stuff July Challenge

Good evening!! I know I am starting early this month - I am lucky enough to be having a week off work before the school holidays (as well as the first week of the holidays).  I am really enjoying the time to myself.  I had a NAP today!!  I am lucky that is the start of the month and there are a whole lot of new challenges going up!  So I got my hands dirty (literally) and got my scrap on.  For Show Us Your Stuff the challenge is this:

I must say, I did a double take when I saw this challenge!  I have had a photo in my pile of some writing my son did in Kindy - which was two years ago. It had been in my pile for almost that long just waiting for the right moment and well today that moment arrived!  This is my layout:

So my photo is off Jaxon's story, that I had to help him to spell out and then there is a PL card that I have 'translated' the story onto.  I have also included a chevron from Charm's Creations as my handmade item.  Thank you for such a great challenge!! And thank you for stopping by to take a look :)
