I have not join in the challenges at Black with Two (http://blackwith2challenge.blogspot.com.au/) before but I love using black as my background so I thought I would join in this month and see how I went. This month the challenge was to use the following sketch:
Using a black background, create a layout using black, slate grey and light grey and up to 5% white. Its funny how sometimes you think that you might not have lot a certain colour in your stash and then you find that you have lots. That was me with grey. The flower in the lower left and the flair button background are a light shade of grey although that didn't come out very well in my photo. Anyway, I hope you enjoy :)

Grub Monster
This layout isn't for a challenge but I thought I would share it anyway. I am not even sure if anyone will see it but hey, its worth a try. I bought a 6x6 paper pad and die cuts from Pink Paisley called Hey Kid as I loved the colours. It had both girls and boys papers in it which is perfect for me. The die cuts had lots of vellum shapes and I have never really used vellum before so I did a little bit of experimenting and this is what I came up with
I also bought a new mask by Tim Holtz which I used in the background which I just love! Thanks for looking!

Stuck?! 15 May Challenge
I found a new challenge blog thanks to Charm at Charm's Creations. Its called Stuck?! (http://stucksketches.blogspot.com.au/) so I thought I would give their sketch challenge a go. This is the sketch:
I used a couple of older photos of my partner and our sons (they look so little in this photo) which have been sitting in my pile of photos for quite some time. I am quite happy with how it all worked out. Thanks for having a look.

The May Challenge at 123 (http://123-challenge-blog.blogspot.com.au/) is
I created the following layout. I love green and I teamed it with black and white and this combination was greate for my photo. I have journalled on the right hand side and included the word time in the journalling.
A close up of the flair button I used (from Flutterby designs) and mini doily.
Another close up of the buttons and enamel dots I used. Thank you for checking out my layout.

Scrap the Girls May Challenge
The Challenge at Scrap the Girls (http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com.au/) this month is to:
Take inspiration from the following quote : you may choose to go with the colour, use the whole quote etc - just have fun with it! " Something old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue"
I decided use the part of the saying something blue - there is a small amount of blue in the paper under my title but the majority is the colour I added to the texture paste for stenciling the stars. The towel my daughter is wrapped in is baby blue although it doesn't show up very well in my photo. I also used the something old part of the sketch in my use of the old fashioned script stamp that I stamped in silver across my layout.
Thanks for taking a look :)

Scrapbooking Top 50 May Sketch Challenge
I have also completed the sketch challenge over at Scrapbooking Top 50 (http://scrapbookingtop50.forumotion.net/t5390-may-sketch-challenge). I really like a sketch challenge!
White with 1 May Challenge
I have done a very simple layout for this month's White With 1 challenge. Gold is not a colour that I usually use and I don't have a lot in my stash at all. The photo doesn't show it up the best but some parts of this are gold foil.
Scrap the Boys May Challenge
Wow, its been a long time since I have been on here. I lost my mojo. I didn't have much time. Not good excuses I know, but I have finally gotten my act together. The Scrap the Boys (http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com.au/) challenge is to create a messy/grungy style of layout. This is outside of my style but I really enjoyed creating this and I quite like the outcome.
I hope you like it!
